The mobile tented camp safari can take you away from the mainstream tourist areas to the best game viewing locations in East Africa. The tents are built up in the regions where the animals can best be spotted during the time of your safari. You get the luxury of privacy in East Africa’s remaining wilderness.
Your guide is the most important factor in a good safari. He is the host, the driver, the teacher and often becomes a friend. We have access to the best safari guides with years of experience in the bush. Our guides know the animals, the birds, the plants and enjoy sharing this knowledge with you.
Luxury mobile tented camps
The tented safari is carried out in the same style as the traditional Hemingway you read about, just the shooting is done with the camera. The tents are comfortable and insect proof. Each tent has twin beds, bedside rugs, a table with chairs and a wardrobe for your gear. Lights are provided. Every tent has its own toilette and shower with hot water.
The camp staff play an important part in making the safari a success. Each tent has its own attendant to make the beds and clean up and do your daily laundry. He also brings your hot water to shower whenever you request it. The chef delights providing healthy meals from his bush kitchen. The crew enjoys their work and you will enjoy getting to know them and they will also teach you some Swahili.
Delicious meals are prepared for you in the bush and served in the dining tent. The menus include a variety of meets, fish, poultry and an abundance of fresh vegetable and fruit is available. Refrigerators keep food fresh and ice is plentiful. Bread is baked daily fresh. Dietary requirements are easily accommodated.
The right itinerary is fundamental to your safari. We design the itinerary together with you, using a combination of campsites and lodges matching your needs. We can accommodate groups of various sizes and children are welcome. Often we organize three-generation safaris and have already organized weddings in the bush.
The best times of the year are December through March and July through October. Safaris are possible all year, however the long rains in April/May and the short rains in November should be avoided. The biggest tourist seasons are December and August due to the Holiday season in Europe and America.
We use 4x4 Land Rovers and Toyota Land Cruisers for Safaris with three roof hatches for game viewing. Each vehicle is equipped with Radio, so communication is always possible among the cars on the same safari or with the outside world.
To maximize time in the bush, frequently aeroplanes are used to fly from one camp to the other. The breathtaking views often make these flights a very worthwhile experience.
Malaria Prophylaxis and a Yellow Fever Vaccination are recommended. Please consult with your doctor.
Drinking water is perfectly safe in the camp, bottled mineral water is always available. Vegetables and fruits are washed meticulously and can be enjoyed without concern. Precautions against sunburn are essential. Please use a hat and sun protection crème. Insect repellents are also recommended.
A visa is necessary to enter Kenya and Tanzania. Visa on arrival can be obtained sometimes with considerable delay.
